I installed the new Whatsapp update and it certainly has some new tweaks to catch the eye.
1. Mark as Unread Feature
.
Well this feature is basically for the users who tend to forget frequently or want to keep a message highlighted to read some other time. It basically highlights the message so that you can get back to it afterwards. Your senders will certainly come to know that you have read the message. It will also not change the order of the messages on the screen. It will just add a green mark next to the sender's name which will appear unless you read the message once again
2. Custom Notification:
This update brings a great set of customization to the notifications options. In the view contact option for any contact or view group option in groups you get custom notifications in which you can set a separate ringtone for every contact or a different flash led or you can mute any contact. So basically now can control every contact and group for notification
3. New Imogis:
This is the most noticeable feature with this new update. You can now choose what shade you want to send for the imogis with human features. A different shade means these imogis are available in different colors other than the yellow default color. Now you can say that whatsapp has not done any racial discrimination while giving color to these imogis. Apart from this, there are some new imogis and some language specific imogis. You can explore them after installing this new update.
4. Low Data Consumption while calling.
This feature is for those who use whastapp calling feature quite frequently on their data packs. Under chats and calls there is a new setting for calling. You can use it to reduce the data usage while calling from whatsapp. This reduces the package consumption significantly as claimed by Whatsapp.
5. Google drive integration
Now you can save the data of whatsapp calling and chats backup on you google drive. This news is still not confirmed but as far as I know you may get it in the near future. I cannot find any such option or feature which links to this update. So we need to some more time before we can start backing up our data on google drive
